New Nov09 Octavia Vrs FL Rear Fogs

Featured Replies

Good Evening

I have just been informed by a Skoda Dealer (who had been in contact directly with Skoda) that the new facelift Octavia doesn't have software control of the second fog light.

They were also of the opinion that you could do it, until they couldn't and contacted Skoda.

Obviously if anyone has managed to do it without running a new wire between the fogs I would love to hear about it. The version in question is an Octavia VRs CR170bhp Estate delivered Dec 2009 (2 weeks ago).

As it happens, the car was in to have the parking sensor display on the Bolero turned on. They admitted that they had messed up the coding when they installed the tow bar.

Cant you run a couple of wires through from the one that works? :S

They are correct in telling you that it can't be done at the moment and I don't think wiring to the working light would work as it may throw up canbus errors.

Hang fire for the update to VCDS as that will hopefully allow you to have both on at the same time.

I have a late 2007 octy and I asked my dealer to activate both rear fog-lights. They tried but found it was not possible with certain on-board processors i.e. 1KO937049A.....T, N or 3CO937049, A,D,E,F,G.

Maybe someone has the solution to get around that problem!!

The new VCDS should fix it.

Hang fire ;)

Perhaps, when I get home from the job I am on, I should buy VCDS :)

I'm sure that the second fog light work, i activate in my MY09 Octavia FL, but i don't know where, i random enabled paires of bytes, but finnaly my bordnetz refuze to accept initial code when I received an error on Maxidot, both light on lower part of back lamps doesn't work. SO I going to the dealer to fix my problem, he do dat by on-line coding.

I know sure the second fgl light working but I don't know rne settings.

Further to my earlier comment about the dealer being unable to fix this issue - I have since bought a VAG-COM cable and did the job in a few minutes and no problems since. Mikeholroyd above has explained the coding sequence.

In the prefacelift is easy, but in the FL ?
