Dead lock

Featured Replies

The rear driver's side door will not open.

With help from another post I now have the internal trim off, and have access.

All the cables and wires look fine, so assume the fault is in the lock unit itself. Before it stopped working it did make an odd noise.

However I have not been able to release the deadlock, so I still can't open the door.

The manual I have show the fixings for the lock on the end of the door, so with it closed i can't acces them.

Is is possible to remove the dead lock by doing something to the lock or can the lock unit be removed from the inside with the door shut?

If I don't fix it soon it will have to be the garage, but I was hoping to spend my money on something more festive.

I find that hitting it with something, whilst operating the remote locking (or having someone operate the locking button, if you don't have remote locking) often works.
