Paint code help for vrs yellow

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there is a variation in the fabia yellow, Ive been to get paint twice now from 2 different places and they both gave the same colour as per paint code in boot, but the yellow is noticeably darker than the yellow on the car now, I find this very strange and somthing is not right, I was a sprayer in the RAF not long ago so sprayed lots of colours and although some colours were slightly different shades none have been like this, the code I have for an 2004 vrs is 6260, anyone encountered this problem,

cheers ian

I had some Lemon Yellow paint for an 04 plate Fabia Vrs made up by Chips- a- way to the paint code on the sticker in the boot. The paint was considerably darker when dropped into stone chips with a cocktail stick, when it dried it was the same colour. Try it somewhere out of sight and see what happens...Hope this helps

Just to add, Lemon yellow (early Vrs"s ) and Sprint Yellow ( later Model's ) are noticeably different. Check you have the correct paint code

Yes the diffrence in yellows is noticable the sprint yellow is far brighter

Thanks for the replys, when did the sprint yellow start?, Ive got a feeling mine is sprint yellow, the paint code is for a lemon yellow, but the car is alot lighter than the lemon yellow Ive had mixed up (twice), does anyone have the paints codes for lemon and sprint.

when I got the first set of yellow mixed up I dropped it into some stone chips, Ive polished them back and you can see if you look close enough its darker,

The paint I had mixed up from Halfrauds today has been mixed as a base so therfore would need a laquer, the paint for my VRS is a solid colour, so its going back tomorrow with my sample piece I sprayed to show them,

cheers ian

I believe the paint changed from lemon to sprint when the face lift Fabia Vrs was launched. sprint is much more of a yellow, a really bright yellow, it's really rich................

the lemon yellow is also really bad for fading so getting an exact match may be impossible.

my mums TT ended up getting a full respray as the coachworks couldnt match the colour due to fading and it didnt appear badly faded until new paint was applied.

Sprint yellow did not appear untill mid 2006 hth

Thanks again for the replys, I know its probaly got some fade, but the test piece doesnt even match the inner parts that would of suffered from less fade, its a strange one,

Hi Had very similar issue getting a can of paint matched at Halfords, my car is 07 FABIA 3 in sprint yellow paint code 6226, but skoda lists two code 6226 yellow`s

6226 is Post yellow skoda colour up to 2000 (made up from two base yellows and white) a very bright yellow and

6226/06 is sprint yellow for cars made after 06 (made up from two base yellows white and black) much more like the 6260 lemon yellow, need to be careful to specify year when ordering any paint

Hope this helps

Stuart
