Menzerna finishing pad (yellow) and applying glaze?

Featured Replies

Hiya fellow budding detailers ;)

As some of you know i have been lucky enough to have been bought a Kestrel DAS 6 machine along with the menzerna kit (all the three types of pad, and both 5" and the smaller spot pads).

As the weather is not brilliant atm not giving much time to fully correct the paint without the use of gazebo or if you are lucky a lockup and the fact that i thought it might be best for me to ease into the use of the machine (a feel for how it handles over the paint etc), i've thought about using a glaze to at least mask some of the paint defects for now until the weather gets a bit better.

So on this note, i have poorboy's black hole glaze, my question is, can i use the yellow finishing pad from menzerna with the glaze, as unlike other finishing pads (lake country for instance) it does not mention that it could be used to apply this type of product.

I'd rather not have to buy another pad, if the finishing one could do it, but i am about to place an order for Z8 amongst one or two other things so if i deffnately require a dedicated pad ill bite the bullet :)

I have terrific beading today after my hour and a half wash down/ Last touch session  - and before you ask sorry no batts in dig camera

Yes a finishing pad will be fine with Black Hole...slow speed on the machine as you're not looking to correct the paint, this combo is a sort of dual purpose product in that it is a mild paint cleaner but also has fillers to hide some minor defects.

You will obviously need to go over it with some wax or sealant to give the paintwork some protection.
