Clutch, flywheel or both?

My Fabia VRs has started to make a intermittent whining noise, similar but deeper to a slipping belt, when I lift the clutch on pull away or low speed pull away in 2nd. At the same time a slight vibration can be felt through the gear stick. I can't make the car do this, it just happens every now and then.

Has anyone else experienced this and what do you think it is. Apart from this the car is working fine.

Hard to say without hearing it. Usual suspects would be, clutch and or dual mass flywheel, clutch release bearing, gearbox input shaft bearings.

Instinct says dual mass flywheel to me. Generally the only thing which "vibrates" when its packing up in the drivetrain due to it being 2 items connected by springs,
