Yep, with the end of the 15% VAT, all on the road prices will rise 2.5% from midnight.

If strictly applied, prices should only rise by 2.17% of course. (The 17.5% tax being applied to the ex-VAT price ie (1/1.15)*1.175 = 1.0217). OK it's only a marginal difference but still equivalent to £65 or so on a £20K car.

I haven't worked out what's actually happened to the list prices.

Hi 2.5% of 20k is £500.

that is much better information on the off road pack, thank you for highlighting the change in information. Most useful!

As the under trays are made in separate parts, it should not be too difficult at a latter date to have steel parts fabricated to replace the plastic bits should they not prove sufficient. It does also give scope for after market fabricators.

Thanks for letting us know the new brochure's out Plumber. I was intrigued to see if SUK have acknowledged my comments of last November, about the 110hp and 140hp 4x4 fuel consumption (and CO2) figures being the 'wrong way round'. THEY HAVE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT - and the new brochure has the 110hp figures as 47.1 mpg combined and 157g CO2 (previously they had that for the 140hp). At Last !

Still awaiting my 110hp 4x4 'S' - ordered in October. The dealer has said it 'should' be here early Jan (but has confirmed it will be with VAT at 15% - as the build date was Week 50 and so they had a Chassis / Engine Number in December).

Have taken some shots as best I can on the ground (without jacking or putting one side on the curb) of the rough road pack.

The rear axle beams have a plastic shield which covers the front and underside of the beams.

The plastic floor pan covers I believe are thicker an more robust.

The underside of the engine has a steel try bolted in place which covers from the front bumper but does not quite extend back to very rear of the engine and gearbox.

Dear Mr. the Plumber,

That is extraordinarily kind of you to go to all that trouble of going outside in this cold and freezing weather to photograph images of the under-tray!

Thank you so much, it is very much appreciated.

Hope your Monster is with you soon, will be a nice new years present.

The SUK CO2 figures still contradict the latest owners manual which gives the 4x4 110 at 159 the 140 at 157 and the 170 at 159. The change to the 140 from 159 to 157 coincided with the updated 2nd generation CR engine introduction at WK45.

My WK42 build is given as 159 in the logbook, so as a point of interest is there anyone out there with a post WK45 140 who can confirm the CO2 from their V5C.

Thankfully it's all academic anyway as there is currently no difference road tax wise in the UK between the two figures.

Regards,

TP

Plumber - thanks for all the piccys and posts you send in - it helped me with my choice of options. Do wonder what your neighbours must think when you're taking those photos though :giggle:

Yes often wondered that myself, probably under the heading 'mad as hat'

Enjoy the new Monster, would like to have a try of the 1.2TSI but my dealer is selling them faster than he can order in so to speak. :)

Regards and have a happy new year,

TP
