Heater problem

Featured Replies

Weird this one guys, I felt a cold breeze while driving last night

thinking one of my windows was open a little I checked them all

as my heater was set to high I couild not understand this. as I was getting warm air going to my feet.

on inspection I found that the passenger side blows cold

How can this happen

is the heater made in two parts or something

any thought guys

There is a dual zone facility in the heater controls. Not used it much myself; but it is possible to set it up as you describe. Mine seems to revert to the normal set up whenever the car is subsequently used.

I too have had this.........

I take it from you saying that your heater was set to HIGH that you have the dual zone climatronic? If so, your temperature normally is the same both sides if you alter the temperature setting from the temp dial on the right (nearest the driver) but if you have caught the passenger side temp dial (which I have done many times when going for the radio controls etc), altering the drivers side will only change the temperature output of the drivers side. It may be that the passengers side is not actually blowing COLD, it may be that it just seems that way with the drivers side blowing so hot on HIGH, and there is a significant difference in temperature output on the 2 sides.

Try pressing and holding the AUTO button for a few seconds to get the 2 sides working together again.

Hope that helps

Mike

I only have one control for the temp.

I have tried holding down the auto as you suggested

You could be right about the temp feeling cool if I am sitting on top of the heat on my side

But my Mrs siad she felt a draft a few weeks ago

I just put it down to her being a woman..lol

I dont have a dual dial

does this still mean there could be dual temps in the car
