How reliable after a remap?

Featured Replies

I am looking to get my vRS diesel remapped shortly and just wanted to know if anyone had seen any reliability issues in doing this? I had a BMW 330d that had a bad remap and it kept popping fuel rails and injectors until we tracked it down! 260BHP in an engine built for 180 was not a good combo! 212 should have been the max.

However, this is a newer car with lower mileage but I still want to be driving it in another 80-100,000 miles - anyone got any good or bad stories they wish to share please?

Cheers,

Andy :)

only issue you may possibly have is with the DPF going into re-gen more often, other than that it will be absolutely fine :)

P.S. It guranteed to destroy the engine now i've said that :p

Hehe the remap I am looking at will bypass the DPF so not too worried about that :D

Looking for good and happy stories ;)

i've had revo on my 07 vrs tdi for just over a year now and no problems apart from the more regular dpf regen's

if you go looking for who does the cheapest or an unknown or a non vag specialist then you could get issues.

If you go for one of the tuners that only specialises in Vag engines you should be ok.

Shark performance

REVO

APR

i wouldnt go for a jack of all trades(engines) master of none tuner IMO.

Well, if I can get a good remap and one that by-passes the DPF, then happy to look at the best ones :)

How do you know this is happening?
