Yeti Xenon Light failure Problem

Featured Replies

No recall, it was a software bit that was left out of the normal installation for some reason. It was apparently just updating the software to what it should have been.

If you do not have the problem, no reason to do anything. If you have the problem, you can now get it fixed in a very short time.

I have had the problem for 2 Months. I was just waiting for a fix to happen.

Ray,

I would have hoped to get details of the actual opdate, but the mechanic said it happened so quickly that he could not tell what it was called or any other information. Anyway, there IS a fix, so you may have to have your dealer talk to the Tech support person at SUK to find out which one it is.

I would have liked to be of more help, but alas..............

Thanks, Hopefully I will not be able to keep it up, as I realy do not expect any more teething troubles. But if I learn something useful, I will spread it around.

I managed to put on the front mudflaps today - piece of cake when you find the right size torx key. Not putting on rears - seems to be no reason.

Next it will be the spare wheel upgrade - all parts on stock, except the wheel itself - but others have documented this rather well I think.

In a couple of weeks, The SM will be on our annual trek to Costa del Sol for a month + travel time. It might be a first 15,000 km update in medio March with some High Speed reporting.

You might find, possibly, that the rear mud flaps help keep the splatter of the rear screen. As the tyres kick up the muck, low pressure air at the back of the car formed as you drive at speed helps suck up and deposit the splatter on the rear screen.

Thanks. My Octy had the mudflaps both front and rear, and while it may have helped, I still used more WW fluid on the rear than the front.

The Sm is the same - but front windshield stays cleaner due to the height. The back WW nozzle coming from below also does not leave as many drips on the as as did the Octy.

I s'pose more attential to details in the SM?

A well-designed largish rear spoiler would keep the rear screen free from splatter and sucked back rain.

The software update for the xenon lights also added some extra functions to the Multidot display. There is now an Audio page, which I have not completely explored, but it repeats the settings of the radio in the Columbus and seems to allow you to select the pre-programmed radio staions from the RH stalk under the steering wheel.

It also has a navigation page, which gets an accurate time form the Columbus and shows cardinal directions next to the time at the top of the display. In the center pane, it shows location by roadname and heading as well as a few other bits of data from the Columbus when you are not navigating ot a waypoint. If you are navigating to a waypoint, it duplicatesd the detail instructions from the Columbus in B/W - very clear and easy to read without taking your eyes off the road. You can now leave the Columbus to show a full screen overview at your preferred map scale and get the next move in the Multidot display.

This may be a standard function if the Columbus is factory installed - which mine was not for excise tax reasons.

I do not know if this was part of the upgrade as such or if the Skoda computer just recognized the Columbus' prescense whent the car was hooked up.

In any case - useful additions, particularly the Navigation stuff.

My all singing/all listening factory fit Columbus came with the Maxidot 'halfway to a Head Up Display' repeat of the satnav. It works very well being only just below the line of sight.
