a few little electrical problems

Featured Replies

well where to start,

The wipers. basically they work when they want. i can get in the car and they will work absolutly fine, then 5 mins later theyw ill just stop, then a little while later they will start up again. After reading around on here i think this may be the bonnet switch, is there anything else it could be?

number 2: The heaters have a mind or there own, the recirc button sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. and then the heat settings most of the time work, but every now and then they will just go cold and nothing i can do will warm them up again. Just to add to this sometimes when i push the buttons for my air suspension the light on the recirc button flicks on then turns of. so this makes me think i may have an earthing problem?

number 3: interior light doesn't work from the front doors and i cannot find the switch for them anywhere.

number 4: outside temp doesn't work unless it's really cold and then it reads -45 lol.

ummm i think that's it :D

Hi,

If you can't get someone to read the codes, then it's a matter of working to exclude possibilities.

1. Switch or connection (could be earth)

2. Flaps? The recirc will only work if air flow is not onto screen and fan on (depends on year)

3 Switch in lock

4 Connection.

As a start I'd suggest cleaning and fitting tightly the battery, earth and battery-top fuses and leads (and the temp sensor connector).

Best of luck

No point taking the wipers problem to a dealer, i took it to 3 seperate dealers and they were stumped

The heating problem is the recirc flaps

The switch is in the lock, req a new lock mech

Temp sensor is busted, it dragged along the ground a few times
