Airconditioning

Featured Replies

We have a Fabia 1.9tdi bought new by us in 2001, currently having covered 130,000 KM.

Apart from the occasional pollen filter renewal we have never had anything done to the air con.

In fellow owner's opinions should we have a disinfection or service of the system? It still works fine, but I have a feeling that the recent torrential rain here in Southern Spain has remained in the ventilation system as on starting the blower there is a fair amount of damp deposited on the inside of the screen.

Is it possible the drainage of the plenum chamber has become blocked? Is there an easy way to check this?

Thoughts welcome.

Roger

The usual test for whether or not work is required on air con is whether or not if can still produce "very cold" on demand.

In this case though, I suspect you're rignt and the plenum drain(s) need cleaning.

oh course you could have the usual Fabia problem, water leaks passed the inner door panels, may not be so common in warm and sunny Spain, but as its been raining, one could assume the doors will be leaking, hence condensation
