Yeti 4x4 with the 2.0 CR 170 Engine

Featured Replies

Anyone here got one, would love your views and if asking too much the spec you got and the price it cost you. I am a current LE 2.0 CR 170 VRS owner - so now the engine well - but checking out the TOTR Scout and Yeti 4x4 with leather option etc. Any views opinion appreciated. First time in the Yeti forum be gentle wiv me :p

Hi and welcome to the SMOC.

140 CR myself but there are a few 170 DI members about. Obviously if your thinking Octy Scout then there's no 170 available and she still had the old 140 PD engine, whereas all Monster diesels are CR.

Regards,

TP

Welcome to the Dark Side...

My spec is Candy White, panoramic roof, Columbus, upgraded speaker system, spare wheel, front parking sensors (rears are standard) and towbar prep. (See http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/144223-official-yeti-owners-list/page__st__20 post number #23 ) . Mudflaps and mats fitted. Had the boot cover to fill the gap between the seats if moved forwards and the rear parcel shelf but took that off and stored it under the boot floor for when it is needed - it rustles too much!

I couldn't tell you what discount I got, if any - I ordered on the first day I could place and order for a CR170 and James at Allams came up with a price which included trading in my Fabia vRS and a Skoda Finance bill that I could afford.

Happy?

On the M40 tonight it was actually safe enough to exceed 30mph for once and now with 1300 miles under its paws it really is pulling well. Definitely not the punch of the PD engine but soooooo smooth and quiet. Life is good! :D

A CR170, cappuccino, rough road pack, a few electrickery gizmo's and a towbar .... and too few miles to write up anything meaningful but that will soon pass!

so far, so good and I'm a very happy SMOC bunny.

I will venture a comment on the wee beasty right away. The price difference that puts the D into DI on the boot is well worth it ;)

edit: forgot to mention mats, flaps and a set of non-dealer sourced alloys shod with vredestein "winters" .... even had a cuddly toy for my wee man!

Guys thanks for the views, I am initially looking for your views to inform a friend who in interested in getting VRS performance from a 4x4 platform (I know of the 3.6 4x4 Superb), the Yeti looks like only option with the 2.0 CR 170 engine until the Scout gets the same engine in June. Got to say I will be considering one of these cars myself in future, and damn you an Anthracite Yeti SE 2.0 CR 170 in the driveway with my Anthracite LE VRS will do my driveway proud.

I have a similar thread asking about the Scout Top VRS spec in the Oct II forum, will do a link to this info as it is very handy. PS worth saying I have seen a bog standard Yeti at a Skoda dealer and loved it, so a pimped up version will only make it more attractive.

Edited to add cross forum link to the Oct II thread:

Sadly Skoda don't do the Yeti in Antracite Grey now and you can't get the CR170 engine with the SE trim, although you can get the 1.8TSi engine in SE trim?

The Superb is available as a 4 x 4 with the CR170 engine in SE and Elegance spec.

James - I have just downloaded and read the Yeti Brochure, I see the spec I should be looking at is the "Elegance" is this the top spec for the Yeti at present?

John - yes I forgot about that deriviate, but having driven the VRS 2.0 CR 170, I'd be looking at the Scout & Yeti to maintain zip of the smaller cars against the bigger Superb.

Fair point. Wasn't aware that the Scout was going to get the CR170 engine?

I wish Skoda would do the L&K with the 170 engine so that a softer ride could be combined with the same go and some nice toys.

Yes Elegance is the top spec on the Yeti and unless they introduce an L&K or Scout version it will remain the top of the range!
