Hi,

My dad just got a new 59 Octavia II Elegance. He ordered curtain air bags as an extra. I own a Fabia II level 3. The Fabia has a airbag image on the pillar plastic, the Octavia does not have this.

How do I tell If the Octavia has curtain airbags?

I would imagine it would have the airbag symbol also. If not someone in the know will be able to tell from the build codes in he spare wheel well IIRC.

if it has curtain airbags, then there will be a logo on the A, B and C pillars

or crash it and see if they deploy! You can also tell by the coding on the sticker with the paper work (if you can work the coding out that is)

Look in the cover of your service book, and there is a sticker with codes on.

Spot on, thanks for the info, just checked my service book and codes 4x3 are present, I have just bought a new Vrs estate, I was unsure and was told that the airbag symbol on the A pilar confirms addition of curtain airbags and I checked other new FL models without curtain airbag option and they did not have the symbol !
