With a TomTom One or TomTom Start, is it possible for it to generate a list of the planned route on the screen before you set off, bit like the driving instructions you get if using theaa.com or Google maps.

If not do any sat navs let you see what it's planning on something other than a map view?

Yes on the TOMTOM you can view the route as a map, a demo, or as instructions, these instructions probably aren't as in depth as with the AA though.

Edit: not sure if this function is still available on the 'start' model, it certainly was on my go 510, and the 'one IQ' I have now.
