Just thought I'd say a quick hello before I start trawling the forum for some info!

Currently looking for a new car and been pushed towards a VAG by a few mates, looking at a Leon and Octavia VRs, but currently swaying towards the Skoda for the extra boot space

You should buy the Skoda (clue was in the site name )

The boot space is amongst the best in class and the interior is a far nicer place than the Leon IMHO.

What age and spec of Leon?

Looking at around 06 plate Sport model Leon, the 2.0 TFSi version (same engine as the VRs Octavia I believe?).

So the FR?

It'll have better seats, and handle better. Octavia will have more room, a nicer dashboard, but softer suspension.

Well, they actually made a 'Sport' model for one year that wasn't as 'racey' as the FR, with 17" wheels and 185bhp engine (instead of 211 I think in the FR) which seemed very comparable to the Octavia VRs (in terms of ride/seats) when I drove it.

Somehow the dealer missed in the service book that the cambelt and lamda sensor had been replaced at 89k miles (they had two 'identical' cars in from a company trade-in and the other didn't have the belt done, maybe they just assumed the other was the same), so I hopefully I got a bit of a bargain there... £5600 with 3 months MOT and Tax?

Picking it up tonight, goodbye 90bhp 1.3 Diesel Corsa!
