Wiper Park Position on second wipe

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have noticed that (as per the manual) on the second park the wipers alternate the resting position of the wiper blade, which is fine and works but this second position seems to move the wiper a good 2 inches up the screen to the point that the wiper on the near side is in view.

Is there a way to amend this so it sits lower down, for aesthetic reasons? I have removed the near side wiper and manually moved it down but it still jumps up to the same position...

Thank you.

Hi Plantman

this is not a bug, its a feature.

It is to alternate the way the blades rest in restposition, so there will be less wear. At first I wondered too, what this should be. And the wipers will be a bit in sight, depending on the rest position.

As said, it will keep the blades in better shape and you will have to change them less often.

Dont know whether there is a possibility to recode this, but I would leave it as it is. Not worth the bit of easthetics to have to change the blades more often (or even drive around with blades that dont work right.)

I'm sceptical about the wear aspects as well. Having the wipers tucked away definitely looks better and must be safer.

Thanks chaps, it's not that I dont agree with the alternate wipe function, it's just that they are popping up too high on the alternate wipe. They have only recently come up further so wondered whether there was any adjustment possible.

Cheers,

Chris

I cant say i've ever noticed this on my car, the raised wiper arm that is.

Me neither. I'm usually watching the road. I didn't even notice the blades were different lengths til I removed them.

I hadn't even noticed the difference between wiper sizes either!

So long as there doing the job intended i dont mind :)
