Clearance on VRS with Eibachs

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Used to have a Focus, which I lowered on Eibach springs. They improved the handling no-end.

I want to do the same to my Octavia vRS TFSI, but I live down a bumpy track which isn't properly surfaced, full of pot holes, and is getting more and more rutted all the time.

My Focus never had any problems, even after it was lowered 30mm. I'm a bit more concerned about the Octavia though, as I've caught the undertray (the one that protects the sump) once already at standard ride height - so I fear lowering it may cause me grief.

How has everyone else found it after fitting Eibachs?

I'll be gutted if I get it lowered and then I can't get it in my drive as I'm an obsessive detailer! :p

Anyone?

Recently fitted eibachs to my FL Vrs Tsi combi. So glad I did, as the handling is definitely improved and the ride is still fine imo. I have only used it around town and dual/motorways etc, but I have had no problems with the speed bumps at all.

No problems for me , with 20mm drop the Eibachs give you and I am running slightly wider rims too. I have not had problems over speed bumps, in multi storey car parks, over small pot holes that seem to have popped eveywhere since the snow thawed. However I don't do any kind of off roading :p so if you've caught the sump before on the standard height, I would be cautious of lowering it.
