well lads small problem with my wipers on my pickup they work for a second or two and then stop i have changed the relay and wiper motor and checked the linkage.any other ideas.

The wiper switch itself, or possibly the delay unit if you have intermittant and it's separate from the relay.

thanks i also suffered from the famous leaky windscreen water got down into the fuse box could this be the problem

just noticed that when i lift wipers off window they work a little sluggish but they work

If they work when the blades aren't on the screen, then it must be the motor, linkage, or supply power. The basic reason for this is that taking the blades off the screen reduces the drag on the motor. This will sound strange, but try changing the fuse for the wipers next. There is a failure mode in fuses where they appear intact under light load, but "break" under heavy load.
