Throttle Body

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to remove the throttle body on the 2.0T FSI?

I can't remove the pipe connecting to the bottom of it so I can access the 2 back screws as the pipe is too short to pull back.

Its a piece of p*ss on the 1.8T but on the 2.0T they've put it between the intercooler and engine

I'm having idle problems and the car has taken to revving itself.

Before removing it, have you tried doing a throttle body realignment with VAGCOM?

Mike

Good Idea Mike, I'm heading to a lad with a vagcom tomorrow so I'll get it done.

I'd say it needs to be cleaned though, we've had some really sh*te weather here (Ireland) recently like ye lads and the problem only started after the thaw.

I did a serious amount of driving in the snow/sleet.

Anyone else got any tips on getting the throttle body out on 2.0 TFSI? I've got a slight hesitation which a vcds realignment hasn't changed, so would like to have a look in there and see if it would benefit from a clean. As zippy said, it was so easy on older engine but looks a right pain to get to the 2 rear bolts on the 2.0..

if you thrrottle body is full of gunk from the road id be worried, that would mean this road gunk will have travelled through your filters and turbo :o (if the particles are big enough it can ruin your turbo), it would then have to get through the intercooler cores, and then into the throttle body. I cant see it to be honest. have alook at your air filter, if gunk has been getting in, it would be all over the filer
