ABS LIGHT and clunking noise

Featured Replies

Hi

wondering if anybody could help me. When driving in the snow I turned up on to a road up a hill which had limted traction and so the front wheels intermittantly span.

Since then I've noticed a clunking noise when turning and pulling out of junctions at low speed. Front Right wheel I think. No problem at speed.

So this is been doing this over a few days. But at the same time I've been through snow and getting stuck, wheel spinning etc .

Today, the clunking noise was present very loudly and the ABS light came and stayed on. I thought I had loose engine cover plastic fouling the drive shaft as thats what it sounds like but cant be sure . I know I have the lower one misssing already.

Does anybody know what it coulod be?

Thanks

Hello, i had e similar problem and one of my abs sensors was faulty. If you can read with vag-com there should be a fault code with one of the abs sensors ( intermitting or so ). I changed the sensor and everything works back normal.
