Ok I know this has been discussed a million times but is there any chance of someone taking some photos of it all fitted along with some brief instructions of how its done, maybe make a sticky?

I just think it would be nice to have a difinative guide with photo's prices and a little bit of performance infor so people don't have to search

Is the filter not pre-oiled?

Careful with the oil you don't want to kill the MAF

Dont oil the filter, its got enough on it to start with.

Oil comes with the cleaning kit which you use after 10k or so.

Easy enough, I might couple a how to together when my intake pipe arrives.

LOL Love the AMD stick on your engine, its not remaped .....honest

Funnily enough they didnt mention anything about it when it went in for its 20k service, wonder why?

As Ross has said, do NOT oil the filter.

Chances are you'll soak it and then your MAF is in the firing line !! :nono:

just wondered Is there a noticeable difference when you change from a normal to a green filter?

Feels like it pulls a little stronger (although my original paper filter was very dirty!) and growls a bit more under acceleration :D

What I noticed when I was fitting my just arrived Green panel filter that it is almost a "window" compared to the stock filter. When I hold the Green against the light it is a see-through thingy, whilst the stock is very dense. I hope this is not a problem, but it seems like it does not filter as well as the stock filter.

Fitting was really easy, just to screws involved.

The stickers it came with don't stick however under the bonnet. Any tips? They just fall of when I apply them.

Its doesnt work like a normal paper filter so looking through it isnt a fair test. The Green filter is a cotton element which uses a lightly oiled coating to trap dust and dirt particles.

Just received mine this morning from Demon. When I ordered I said it was for the 130PD vRS but quoted the part number was P950337, which I got from a previous thread in this forum.

P950337 has arrived but the sticker says its for a Fabia 1.4L 60HP :-( I've e-mailed Demon to check before I open the box.

Ross - Are you fitting the 160 Cupra air intake? I enquired with Seat and the 2 part no's you gave me are

bit like nose hairs then ????? :P

Stephen,

Yes you need both parts, the bit that plugs into the slam panel behind the grille and the part that feeds the airbox.

There are a couple of different types of filter for the Fabia but have a look at you origianl filter and the new one (or the pic above) they are quite a different shape and it should be obvious, as long as it looks like the one above its fine.

That part number is correct - see here :D

Chris

Cheers Ross and yes it looks the same, just dont know why it quotes the 1.4 petrol engine on the box.

Does the pd160 air intake purely just allow more air through than the standard intake (i.e. has a bigger diameter?). Also do you just visit a Seat deal and ask for one?

Just did a testdrive on my remapped TDI100 Fabia. 80-120kmh (50-70mph?) times were the same as before fitting the Green filter.

It seems to rev a bit smoother though at low revs and at high revs.... not very sure though (maybe I want it to rev smoother ;))

I've the CupraD intake on order in the Netherlands for a 2 weeks or so.... also in back-order here :(

The Cupra intake is a larger bore, will fit into the std airbox. Thus allowing more air into the airbox.

Part numbers are (for those who cant be bothered to look)

6LL 129 621 and 6LL 129 618

Order them and wait for delivery from you nearest SEAT dealer (3+ week wait now).

Glad you guys pointed this out (not too clear in the instructions), just 'wasted'

I think Hobnob was after pictures of the install of the air intake more than filter...

That's OK, probably going to do it after the Barca-Deportivo game (i.e. 9pm), so it will be dark :D

NOT taking any pics will save me a little hassle :o

Yeah the air intake is what I'm really after pics of as the pic posted of the filter on page one does perfectly

That part number is correct - see here :D

Chris

Cheers Chris/Ross - green cotton filter now fitted :D

The original was pretty mucky so hopefully I'll see some difference.

Come tomorrow morning I'll have the Cupra air intake on order too
