Many Congratulations

- that reads like a very nicely spec'ed vehicle.

Graham

Sounds like a nice spec car, shame about the lack of snow when you

take delivery. At least you will be ready for the next fall :)

Congratulations!!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:B)

ahem python moment aside, welcome to the more than 140bhp SMOC ;):giggle:

in my experience, the move from a Octy 4x4 to a Snow-monster was more of a revelation in the subtle art of progress.

that motor you've chosen appears to be peachy

Edit: appalling typo even by my standards

Is that the CRSMOC?

Do you call her Little red Ridinghoood?

Had a feeling this may cause a stirring amongst fellow Monster members, colour being such a subjective thing :giggle:

As a side note on colour the 'Gold' Yeti looks pretty good, mind you how many yellow vRS do yo see; very few. Although yellow was quite a popular car colour in the early 80's, my second car a Fiesta 1.1L was a nice Citrine Yellow with a black Mk I XR2 boot spoiler and spot-lamps. B)

Boy Racers ah :giggle:

Thanks all for your comments on spec.

Waiting time is estimated at 6-8 weeks, so March hopefully.

Colour - don't much care what the colour is personally, better half chose red......(maybe she likes postman pat, must ask her) I just refuse to pay extra for metallic.

Nice spec - hope it arrives on schedule. I notice you are in the minority (as am I) and gone for the 1.8TSi :)

Yes, but it suits our driving, I know in the long run diesel will be a few hundred quid cheaper buy hey its what we wanted. What made you choose the petrol if you don't mind me asking

Nice spec.

What is the price difference between front sensors and park assist? Just a thought. :)

What did you go for Lee?

Yes, but it suits our driving, I know in the long run diesel will be a few hundred quid cheaper buy hey its what we wanted. What made you choose the petrol if you don't mind me asking

I thought the smoothness and reveability of the 1.8TSi swung it for me - the engine imo is a very fine unit - and I mean compared to other four cylinder units on the market today - not just compared to what else is available in the Yeti. Ive come from a 2 litre VRS estate and I think its pretty similar to that in character but if anything felt smoother, sweeter and pulled from slightly lower in the rev range whilst still pulling to the red line. Having taken the VRS engine to stage 2+ I also have a lot of faith in these VAG petrol turbo engines in terms of durabilty. Balancing that with the fact I have friends with VAG170TDI's that seem to have many issues regarding DPF/regeneration issues and sensor failures (or recalibrations) or ECU updates.... (you get the idea), I just wasnt going to take the chance of it affecting my ownership experience.

Also, you say the diesel will be a few hundred quid cheaper but Im not so sure of that tbh - Im sure I priced the equivalent 170 at something like £1400 more and to be that pays for a heck of a lot of fuel! ;-)

Oh and dont get me wrong, I think the 170 unit is excellent for what it is and I also drive a diesel as my main car currently so you cant say Im being fuel'ist! (is that a word? I think not!) ;)

Tom - (hope your enjoying the '3' - it looks very nice)

Ive ordered a 1.8TSi Elegance 4x4 Yeti in Steel Grey with the following options:

Metallic Paint

12 speaker sound system

16" Spare

Floor mats

Columbus Sat Nav

Panoramic Roof

Park Assist

Rough Rd Pack

Silver Roof Rails

Tyre pressure monitor.

Delivery in April sometime. :)

Lee

Well done octy!

Useless fact of the day - yellow became a difficult colour to produce when lead in paint was banned, apparently it was needed to make yellow paint. My ex had a MkII MR2 in yellow which looked really good.
