Update,

Billy boys tyres are not interested.

Rim Stock have not replied as yet so Ill git it till next week in case he is away.

so far, If your planning on getting any Team Dynamic rims be careful!!!!

Maybe get the rim to a wheel repair specialist, and ask them to document any info about the crack when they repair it.

If it turns out to just be the paint, then fine, but if they say the crack penetrated the casting and will have affected the structural integrity, then get them to put it down in writing, and maybe get some photos of it if they dye-pen it.

You'll have to have the wheel repaired at your own cost to begin with, but once you have some info, you can forward it to TD and claim the repair work back off them, as it may be their quality issue.

If they refuse to acknowledge the issue, if there is one, then publish the crack documentation on every forum, warning that TD know about their wheels cracking but don't care about it once they have your money.

I'm a bit of a vigilante with things like this!

If things don't go your way, then I'd email the report of the crack to TD's competitors. It's fairly easy to destroy a companies reputation if you really need to! People need to learn that customer care comes first.

Right, bringing this back up,

Cheers Bodge, I took the wheel to a well recomended company near Newport and they have pulled back the tyre and there is nothing gone through. They have had a good look at it and also dont think it is as simple as paint crack, they have tried to see how deep it is and to be honest unless the paint is 1 mm deep then its not just paint! :S

They said they can investigate further but advised me not to untill I had spoken to Rim Stock again to be sure that should it be the metal that they wouldnt say NO as Ive damaged them further.

there was no charge and they are very nice fellas, I even went with one of them up to their machine shop for the fella to look at.

Basically Ill be on the phone tomoz to Rim Stock trying to get something from them in the way of info. If all goes well I wont have to get the rim sorted but if not then Ill hopefully be getting something back from Rim Stock for getting it sorted, If that doesnt happen then Ill be getting all the rims done with new tyres on and do as you said Bodge. No other choice.

Update:

After a few emails Rim Stock finally said they would collect the wheel, when the lad went to get it signed off his bos said I needed to get the rim back to Billy Boys and they would then be able to collect it from there as that is the correct procedure.

It cost me £16 for the courier and R S collected it from there.

Got an email few days ago saying that he had been to see the QC fella and it is looking like a genuine crack!!!! (not good) :o and that he has ordered a new one to be made and it should be with me within 2 weeks.

Dont know if they will say what they think caused the crack or even how bad it is but at least I getting a new one.

Must say Thanks to Jon at Rim Stock for helping me out.

and a thanks to R S for sorting it as they really didnt need to due to the age(18.5 months now)

Cant wait till it arrives so I can get some good rubber on them and put them back on the car as the R32 reps are a drag lol due to the weight.

Yep well done Billy.

I am still looking for a set of 18" Black Pro race 1.2s

All sorted

the rim turned up today and OMG its sweet, came with the new centre cap which is black, good job I kept the original lol. The TEAM DYNAMIC RACING stamp on the rim is also much sharper too. but not really noticable. but I want 3 more brand new now to go with this one lol, the colours are no diff neither which was a surprise. Mind I think the old ones paint is in such good nic coz they have never been without Poor Boyz ws on them.

I am soooo excited and hope I pass the DHL class 1 driving Assessment tomoz with DHL sainsburys so I can save for some nice new Falken 452 all round

ps must say the rim is soooo light on its own. only weighing 9.4KG(just weighed it now)
