My Fabia RR Result

Featured Replies

Had the Fabia RR'd on Sunday and slightly disappointed with the result but happy all the same as i said if it makes anywhere near what it has i'll be happy

Now the places rollers had a few issues and the car went into limp mode 3 times lol but it was also wheelspinning even with two guys sitting on the slam panel lol

So with wheel spin i got 178bhp 288lb ft torque at the flywheel! But i reckon if it didn't wheelspin on the rollers it'd be a bit more but hey ho since it's been de catted it spins up so easily compared to before. Gonna find another RR day and take it to that see how it performs their. But then i'm also considering selling up

List of mods

Remapped

De cat straight through system

EGR Removed

BMC CDA

Modified Crank Case breather

Sounds reasonable for the mods you have carried out :)

Looks about right :)

Looks like good numbers to me!

Are you still on standard clutch / flywheel?

  • Author

Yeh they're still standard for now gonna save a bit and get a helix and single mass flywheel conversion done

Any decent RR should be able to stop wheelspin. How would they cope with a seriously powerful machine?

Numbers sound right at least. :)

Well with it strapped down and 2 guys sitting on the slam panel it still wheelspun. The owner did say that he didn't really know how his rollers would be with the diesel due to the torque they create so hope for the best lol

They have some serious machines go on though as they are a tuning company have been on the go for years. The owner used to work for McLaren-Mercedes etc

My mates Clio 200 had to be strapped tighter due to wheelspin but they never strapped mines tighter down lol. Could also be my front tyres aren't exactly the best for the power but all i could afford at the time of needing of them

Weighing up my options just now, but the operator did say it was running clean as it was a puff of black smoke then nothing more heavy coming out so it was all good :)

Hampshire is about 8 hours from my house sadly or i would. Went to Hampshire in July last year to get my Fiesta ST500 Mountune and it put me off travelling for a while lol

Doesn't sound like the surface of the rollers is that brilliant?

Either that, or carpet glue does the trick :)

Dunno lol, never paid that much attention tbh as had been up since 6am and thats me shattered for the rest of the day

Mine went on the rollers the other week and im pretty pleased for a standard engine. Its a 55 plate and just has coilovers

134.4bhp and 247ft/lb of torque

Thats a good result for a standard car. I'm happy with my increase and especially love the car with the de cat as it feels like an animal to drive now. Acceleration is so much more responsive

Good results :)

Although i'd be pretty p'd off if it kept wheel spinning and they couldn't sort it - been to JKM loads of times and they know how to do a rolling road :D

I'd love to go to JKM but it'd cost me 2/3 tanks of diesel their and back and be 16+ hours round trip lol

Normally i'd be more than up for it but as the Fabia has became a greedy git with the Diesel now it's off the cards completely :(

Understandable, i'd never do an 8 hour each way trip for a rolling road... although done it for a set of wheels... :)

I done it for a car and came home to Scotland via surrey as i dropped off my old ST backbox since it was an hour from Hampshire lol

What does it normally cost for a trip on the rolling road?

As a one-off around £50, perhaps more. As part of a RR day expect to pay £35ish.

This one was £25 a car Which is the cheapest rr day I've been to lol

Cheap for a reason obviously if they cant stop wheelspin :(

Where did you go ?

  • Author

They just need their rollers re coated as they were worn

Sitech Racing in Blair Atholl, guys fulla knowledge of tuning especially fords

mine was £20

Lol they had 2 guys sitting on my slam panel and it still span, soon as the turbo kicks due to the de cat it spins like mad, never used to do that even when it was mapped!
