Its always a great help looking at other peoples cars to make decisions for your own car, glad to be of help!

Anyway theres always an excuse for some more pictures, so heres me in my car on the Nurburgring last week. I think the ride height with Eibach's is spot on, it will always ride lower on the move, even more so at speed being chucked around a bit!!

The Bilsteins are very good - ride height is perfect. Still good at soaking up the bumps around town and its much tighter than std. But i'm not sure if you can get them any more! Ride height is ment to be about 40mm drop, but once they settled and I re-measured from the centre of the wheel to the arch was 55mm at the front and 45mm at the back. Handling is even better now with new wheels and a bit of camber! :)

How far is that lowered, thanks matt

How far is that lowered, thanks matt

its 25mm on eiback springs, were in mansfield you from and what colour vrs u got?? im from calverton

1) Handling is like dog turd (even after alignment)

2) Springs are obviously the wrong poundage as the front coils are constantly hammering togehter and now all the coating is dropping off and theyre rusting

3) Noisy at low speeds, clunks and clicks

4) Coating is coming off despite being covered in grease and cleaned once every 2 months

5) The worst of all is what they have done to the steering feel. Even after being laser aligned, the car pulls left VERY VERY strongly, if I let go of the wheel I would be in the hedge within 2 seconds. Steering weight is completely knackered, turning right is extremely heavy and turning left is light as a feather.

Annoying, annoying annoying.

2) The factory springs on my Impreza have done this... IMO it's something that WILL happen, especially with variable rate springs. Writing that though.. I thought, surely copilovers are constant rate and shouldn't coil bind???

5) I think you need to get the car corner weighted (or check the coilovers are all at the same height at least). Only times I've had similar symptoms have been when one rear tyre is low pressure on my old AX GT. If the car has a light corner, that will affect the steering. More so when you load the car...

Ooops... Mine's on Eibachs springs and Eibach (Sachs) dampers.

Thought I would post on this thread as I am fitting a combo which hasn't been mentioned here...

The present set-up on my VRS has Eibach Pro springs on OE dampers. The ride is bouncy and crashy. The travel of the dampers have been severely compromised due to the ~35mm lowering and there's not much to go at before the bump stop is reached. Cornering will almost certainly be on the bumpstop, so any bump encountered is taken directly through the car - nasty

Bilstein B8 ('Sprint') front (35-052180) & rear (24-067904) dampers, combined with KW lowering springs - KW25082018

Here's the damper

The B8 from Bilstein is a decent damper. It is a monotube inverted design, and has a shorter travel than an OE damper

Here's the rears

And the KW springs

They lower the car by just 20mm, and are stiffer than most of the other aftermarket 'sports' springs, Eibach Pro H&R etc

The reasoning behind this combo is my priority was to maintain as much travel as possible, and not over lower the car. This will protect the dynamic geometry (and travel), plus I'll get more travel from less lowering combined with the shortened damper which will give max travel possible on a lowered setup.

Here is the complete unit installed

Review of the set-up here

how much in total did you pay for the full set of dampers and the kw's?
