MFD3 "LOST"

Featured Replies

My MFD is lost - it thinks its about 10 miles further away than it actually is and when you check the GPS co-ordinates it says 0 out of 10 satellites and "no lock"

This has been working fine for about 3 months but since I fitted the bluetooth kit the other week, it appears to have stopped working! I've checked all the connections and moved the antenna but no luck. Tried rebooting and factory reset but no luck. Is there a callibrate function hidden somewhere?

I can't think the OEM BT would be causing this issue so its either the unit just having a flip out or the GPS antenna is buggered.

Any ideas guys?

HI Wardth

Are you sure the antenna is still connected to the MFD³?

Looks like the plug has come out of the socket or the wire might be internally broken.

Do you have the possibillity to try another GPS antenna?

Checked the antenna last night and all looked ok. I don't have a spare and would be reluctant to purchase a replacement without at least trying alternative (free) solutions!!

Does VCDS show up any antenna errors?

0 out of 10 sattalites means the unit is not getting any GPS reception at all, and your positioning data is currently being provided by the wheels sensors only. Replacing the GPS sensor will certainly clear the problem as its gone faulty.

Hmm, fitted antenna today during lunctime, did a reboot and all appears to be OK. Weird thing though - I've now lost all my previous destinations...............................

OK, got in the car last night at the office and programmed in my home address. Off we went no problems. Got home fine etc and then wet to save as Home Destination. Saved ok then lost its position and thought I was 6 miles away in Poynings. Something is defo up. "0 out of 10" satellites again. I refuse to believe yet another GPS antenna has failed..............

Try removing the bluetooth from the car, this will help narrow down the cause of the fault.

Sounds like it could be interference from the bluetooth antenna ?
