Another tyre thread

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am on my second Octavia II 2.0 tdi with dsg, the first was an 2006 hatchback L&K with 16" alloys and dunlop tyres. I manage around 25000 miles on the full set of tyres after swapping diagonal corners over and driving on the hard side of normal.

Now my second Octavia is also a 2.0 tdi with dsg but an estate L&K with 17" alloys and bridgestone tyres on all four corners and I have just had to replace the fronts and I have just clocked up 14000 miles on the clock and I would say I have driven on the slow side of normal as I prefer a higher mpg. How does this seem compared to others on here, and I must say the tyre was worn way past the the indicator all the way across the width of the tyre.

I have got bridgestone turanzas on another car and they wear quickly. I corner hard and all the write ups say they are soft anyway. Good for cornering bad for wear, can't have it all.

I have 2.0Tdi DSG and I usually get 25 - 30.000kms out of a set of fronts. (remapped)
