Stereo Wiring Help, Please

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the middle of swapping over the standard Head Unit for a sony one, although I have managed to plug in the speaker connection ok, I'm just wondering what colours go to what. My sony head unit has RED, BLACK, YELLOW AND BLUE which needs to be connected to the cars RED, BLUE, BROWN/RED AND RED/BROWN wires.

Please help, I've been at it all morning without success. Thanks.

UPDATE: Got power to the head unit, it's illuminating but no sound - ARGH!

Hi Geraint

You don't say how old your car is, but I would have thought it was standard "din" wiring, and also thought the sony was "din" so just unplug the

skoda radio, and plug the Sony straight in! (look at link)

But again you should work out the wires from the link

Thanks very much for your help. It was just me being really stupid. The block I thought (and adement) was the "Power" was actually the the block containing the speaker wiring (4 wires) and the remaining block for the power. Cheers again!

remeber to swap yellow and red wires around (red to yello and red to yellow instead of red to red and yellow to yellow) in order to keep codes and not drain your battery!!
