Cloth upholstery

Featured Replies

Anyone DIY stain proofed their cloth upholstery.

What did you use?

Scotchguard any good?

I 'supaguarded' some cloth seats a few years ago with a can of 'left over' spray from the dealership I worked in. They didn't stain but then I don't remember doing anything on them to cause stainsemoticon-0136-giggle.gif Sorry, anyway, supaguard costs a few hundred pounds from the dealer but you can - or could - buy boxes of it for forty pounds on Ebay. I thought that Scotchguard was outlawed years ago for being poisonous (unless they changed the recipe). Auto express magazine, despite being dreadful in most respects, does some useful product tests and may have a stain protector amongst them. Give their website a look over; just don't read the banal reporting.
