Problems changing my Octavia rear wiper motor

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and have done my best to look for the answer on this one as it appears to be a pretty common topic.

My Octavia Hatch rear wiper has all but stopped working and as the washer is still spitting some water I'm assuming its not the boot sensor. It was stood for a month whilst I was away so I'm assuming the weather and the moisture have seized something?

I'll be changing the motor and possibly the assembly myself but embarrassingly I can't fathom how to get the interior trim off the the boot/hatch.

Would some one let me know how the process works before I break something?

Thanks

Rob.

hi i joined today for same reason i have same problem so i bit the bullet they are just pop on clips if you get a screwdriver (flathead) start at the bottomside ie the bit by the rear light cluster and gentley pry between plastic and metal of hatch it will slowly pop off just continue around mine is off (intact) apparently its a swine to put back ive come in its to cold outside ( no garage) ive checked my electrics they seem to be ok? but still wont wipe tommorow thinks i will be removing motor to check the problem i have is stops mid screen after ive shut boot it some times starts again next time i go for a drive sometimes moves a couple of inches then stops again the motor has allready been replaced once under the 3 year warrenty but now thats expired im trying my self let me know how you get on

There is a screw in the hole under pull handle to remove before you prise boot cover........or you will break it.

Btw this topic has been brought up numerous occasions, use search

Gaff beat me to it, do not forget that screw which is by the handle, at the time i attempted to get mine off i did not see the screw being a bit dark in the garage, anyway outcome was i split the plastic around the screw.
