Hi people having problems starting the fun in the mornings

turns over nice and fast but will not start you have to keep your foot on acc pedal all the way to floor then it will slowly start giving a big amount of grey smoke and smells of fuel

also cuts out on hills when first started but ok when run for 10 mins (its like you turn the key off but starts again first time)

when you start from warm you have to put the acc to the floor but no smoke

stills in traffic but will start again

many ideas as to why its playing up

temperature sender is usual cause mate

try restting the throttle body adaption values using vag-com too

what cable do i need as the lead i had does not fit (obd 11 type)

my plug is a retangle one with 16 pins just under the dash by acc pedal

You want something along the lines of this:

Vag-com cable- ebay

I think that is the same as the one I have. Just search on ebay for "vag-com cable" and look for ones with a similar shape/spec etc. Might get one slightly cheaper than that one I linked to.
