Featured Replies

So my abs is off and the wire that plugs into the abs sensor is dammaged

Just wondering on a part number for one of these as i cant find one anywhere.

I might be able to soulder the wire back together but its cut the wire pretty close to the plug

bad times

Thanks

Simon

Hmm - will be tough to find I think,

However, ETKA tells me the rear ABS speed sensor wiring harnesses are:

FRONT: 6Q0 927 903 R

REAR: 6Q0 927 904 F

The R and F letters could be updated. but the numbers seem to be right. :)

Thanks jason. Do you know if this is the same as the front wiring?

Thanks jason. Do you know if this is the same as the front wiring?

has it snapped right at the sensor end, if so the P/N Jason listed will be ok,

manufacturers generally do the loom down to the sensor separately from the main loom, as this is the bit that can get damaged very easily

Okay, here is my "5 bob" suggestion, disconnect the plug from the end that the wires are sheared at and, using a high powered magnifying glass, read off the VAG P/N of that connector. If you find a number - it will be in the same form as all the other VAG P/Ns, order in a new connector, now that connector will not come with contact pins, so, once you have the new connector and proved it will fit okay (ie is the correct one), take the old connector apart - ie harvest the used contact pins by sliding across the locking "U retainer" and using something like dress making pins and/or paper clips and/or very small drill bits, eject these contact pins. Splice in an extra length of suitable wire by soldering and cover the exposed inner with some small diameter heat shrink or better still heat shrink loaded with heat activated adhesive/sealant - to protect against the wires getting corroded quickly - then load this into the new connector, then splice the extra wiring into the car's loom using the same method. Of course if you know that the original connector shell is okay and that you can remove the contact pins without damaging its pin locking elements - then maybe forget buying a new connector and just bash ahead with the spicing in new lengths of suitable wire.
