Can the lights-on warning buzzer be turned on and off?

Featured Replies

Pretty much as in the thread title - the car is a Fabia Mk I (6Y) with a standard vRS instrument cluster but the lights-on buzzer doesn't work. Has this been coded off or is it likely to be broken?

Thanks.

Anyone? Not a high priority I know, but I need to know if I need a new instrument cluster or not?

Thanks.

Check that your interior lighting goes on and off when you open and close the drivers door, the buzzer is linked to the microswitch which is prone to failure.

Thanks for the response.

I probably ought to explain - I've had the car stripped of various bits and pieces before it gets sold. It did have a maxidot panel fitted and the lights-on buzzer worked fine, but I've swapped it for a standard panel and the buzzer doesn't work anymore. I don't know whether the buzzer has been mapped off in the panel or if it's broken.

The interior lights do come on and off with the doors opening and closing.
