I bought this as a daily runner 2k it came with a decent history with a £1k skoda service a year before I bought the car.

I have had the car a year and have done the following to it

VRS springs and shocks £40

VRS wheels and decent tyres £155

genuine skoda front valance already painted the correct colour £35

I have just bought a VRS 6 speed gearbox for £200 after issue with play in the differential on 5 speed, I have realized that I need VRS drive shafts as the differential is much wider, I am also worried about the the linkage being slightly different

Problems

Quite poor fuel economy 33-40 I suspect this might be related to the gearbox problems as the economy has got worse as problem progressed.

Convenience computer failure, which was far from convenient, disabling door locks, reversing door mirror controls, I replaced unit with a C unit rather than E which had one less out put presume controlled the heated seat which turned its self on and boiled my balls, I removed fuse and I am yet to search for the solution I presumed it was related to the later failing computer!
