Trade in value

Featured Replies

My Occy VRS TDi is 3 yrs old soon and ill be looking for a new company car. Like the look of the Superb 170 Elegance DSG (im 30. Am i too young?)

In your experience do you think ill get a higher trade in value if i get another Skoda or ill get the same sort of cash wherever i go..

I know i can go to the dealer and ask!! But i thought id get some opinions.

In my experience it doesn't matter a lot. They will give you market value at a Skoda dealers and at another dealers they will do the same and sell your car on for whatever they can get from another dealer usually a non-specialist or what they might get at auction. In fact I have been to a Skoda dealer who has offered me less than a VW dealer in part exchange for a similar priced car. Its a lot about how much profit they want to make out of you. Not true of all dealers but some are cut throat.Lets face it they are not in it for their health. I wouldn't just go to one dealer try 3-4. I have bought 3 VWs in the past from a dealer 50 miles away when there are 2 on my doorstep. Saved £250-£400. Cost a few gallons of diesel.

You can get an idea what its worth from checking with Glasses Guide (costs £3.50)

If you can sell your car privately then drivethedeal appears a good option .

Prices seem all over the place , looking at changing mine for an estate , its done stupid low miles tho , 22k in 4 yrs , this doesnt seem to matter , till they come to sell it tho,
