My second faulty radio!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

A few months ago, I started to notice that the radio in my 57 Fabia 3 was on the blink. Adjusting the volume itself when starting the car, (yes I checked the startup volume settings) and sometime it would just not give any sound out at all. Anyway brought it to the service centre who found a fault code and when they got the new radio, replaced the old one. I immediately noticed how much quieter the new one was, I had to have it on a higher volume setting to get the same level of sound out, the physical quality also seemed worse, the buttons all felt pretty rubbish compared with the old one. I just assumed this was normal so though nothing of it. I then noticed how unbelievably slow it was at going through folders on my MP3 CDs, the old one would allow you to flick through several folders instantly to get to the one you want, the new radio has to start each folder playing before it will skip to the next. I think this is both slow and dangerous. I want to flick to the right folder without taking my eyes off the road, with this one I can't. I also discovered yesterday that the radio refuses to recognise the auxiliary input. It only does CD or radio, I've read the manual, gone through the menus and still it does nothing. The old radio had no issues with this.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

i had a fabia 2 57 plate now got 58 plate sport the radio is not. as loud now.the tweeters in the back doors are not as loud as they was in the other car when i put my mp3 player through the aux there is a ringing noise with the bass
