Hi All, have any member come across this problem i'm having on my Felica 1.6 glxi 99 T reg hatchback.

When the engine is running the charging light goes out. Yet when i switch the Ignition off the battery charging light stays lit. Anybody got any ideas. Waiting for your replies.

UPDATE I've just noticed that when the ignition is switched on the charging light doesn't come on. I thought this extra info might just be little more helpful.

sounds like the altenator is knackered mate to me, for now you could just disconnect the battery otherwise the alt will drain it quite quickly

that's very odd, i had the same problem when i put the 16v engine in my pickup, but that was down to me wiring up the oil pressure swtich and the alternator warning lamp round the wrong way

At a guess, Frazer doesn't re-engine Fellys as a hobby!

So I'm thinking alternator and/or regulator again.

Thanks to all for there input with my battery charging light problem. It was the Altenator as i suspected. Thanks once again to all involved.
