First Detail With G220 and Menzerna

Featured Replies

My G220 kit arrived Saturday morning. Car was washed, clayed, dried and wheeled into the garage.

No before or during pics as I was a bit nervous attacking panels with the 500 Watt monster that is the G220

I used Menz Power Finish on a Menz Orange pad, then Menz Final Finish on a Menz yellow pad.

Car only had very light swirls so not a major correction. The above combo worked a treat. LSP was Megs NXT2.0 Wax

Nice. Need to get round to buying some new polishes.

You sealed it with a sealant or Wax?

Forgot to say I used Megs NXT2.0 Wax as an LSP. Rapidly going off waxes though, think I might switch to using a sealant in future. Possibly Zaino Z8. I find waxes tend to sweat and release oils.

I've got some 915 that I've only used once. Now the weathers picking up I must get round to detailing the cars for the summer.

As stated over on DW, nice results there, looks like a pretty good depth to the paintwork and fair play for taking the plunge and buying a DA.......

Looks very nice, great work...and yeah it's a bloody tiring job eh :D

Meg's Tech Wax 2 is technically a sealant with glazing oils (hence the sweat maeks/shadows etc in some cases), might want to give a paste wax (Victoria, Collinite, Dodo Juice to name but a few) a try if you haven't already?

Might try some Colli and see how I get on. Over the years I have used. Megs Gold Class Wax, found it very greasy. Megs Stage 3 Crystal Wax, good but doesn't last. Many moons ago, various paste waxes but nothing fancy, used to find them hard work.

I quite liked the combo of AG SRP and then AG EGP, that was the combo I used before I corrected the swirls, it did a good job of hiding them for a while (I wash the car a lot, which is half the problem.) Might try AG EGP on it's own to add a bit more depth to the paint.

If your thinking of giving Collinite a go then have a look at some FK1000p, bigger tub and better value.........

Ah forgot about that one. Just about to place another order with CYC, so will add some FK1000p onto the list
