I have a 54 plate Fabia VRS and i have an issue. When I start the car after a few seconds the red temperature light bongs and keeps flashing. If idrive round the corner and restart the car it does not come back on. Why?

Probably absolutely nothing, especially if starting from cold. As it is winter, the fluid level in the expansion tank falls and the sensor within registers that it is low and gives the warning on the dash. You could top up a little and it might go away. It is a Skoda failing and sometimes the expansion bottle needs to be replaced as the sensors can fail. Just make sure that there are no leaks (head gasket etc) and that the level does not fall and you should be ok. I would imagine when you check it that the level is just above minimum but this does expand slightly as the engine warms.

Thankyou, the firt time it happened i did check everything and found all to be ok and thought it would go away, typical woman!!! Your right it has only happened in winter i had the car since April and was fine until cold really set in.
