Good sound, good display, good user interface.

Good screen works well in bright sunlight and at night.

Integrates really well with a Fiscon Plus Bluetooth phone kit.

Slow start up particularly with a large amount of music on a SD card.

Needs a firmware tweak to resolve silly issues like having to reinitialise all the SD card MP3's each time when changing backwards and forwards from the radio.

However if you search for the recent thread about playlisting all your albums then there is a workaround that solves it all.

A friend of mine who updates his car stereo equipment as a matter of course, couldn't believe how good the quality was when he heard it.

I can live without music for 18 seconds or so each time I push the "media" key. By the time I've got to the top of my drive the music is playing.

The work around creating playlists and all that stuff to me seems to involve more effort than reward.

I only use it for the radio or ipod (via mdi - and i don't get any sort of delay as others have said above) . IMO its an excellent bit of kit - streets ahead of the std fitment radio i had in my previous golf gti.

Depends on your memory card. My 16Gb class 2 was in for over minute and showed no sign of life. Also if you have too many songs pressing selection takes an age. If you use Linux the effort involved to set this up is minimal.

I'm thinking about one of these.

I've got the Stream in my vRS.

I've read a lot about fleabay ones being knocked off.

Is the main dealer the only other place to purchase one? How much are they ?

Brilliant bit of kit, worth the money alone for the SD card interface (plays 16Gb SDHC cards). Plenty of threads about it - worth doing a search.

just fitted one in my octy vrs changed from stream to bolero, cant beleive the difference, fitment was straight forward apart from having to get a arieal adapter to change to a twin arieal lead needed for the bolero, a big thanks to Ben at "sharke performance" for suplying the lead.

im selling mine very soon,

im going for the'ebay' dvd,tv setup.
