Connectingmy ipod/mp3 to aux socket ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have used the search function but dont really know what im looking for.

Ive got an 07 L&K Occy Estate with a factory fitted MDF2 and the aux socket in the jumbo box and maxidot.

Ive used a simple lead to connect the ipod to the aux and got it working through the the MDF, but can only change tracks using the ipod and not the stereo or steering controls.

Is there a way of being ale to control the ipod through the stereo and steering controls ?

What is MDI and how can it help playing my ipod through the MDF2 ?

Oh, and where to get the lead would great aswell.

Cheers,

Paul

I think you have to shell out some cash and get it integrated.............i think Tom Vrs did it in his mazda 3........look at members cars section or possibly project journals section. He paid about £200 as i remember

Can anyone tell me what MDI actually is, what it does and how much it costs ?

MDI wont work with MFD2. You need a Columbus (MFD3) or Bolero, the touchscreen units.

If you want to retain the MFD2 and get Ipod control you cant use the Aux-in. You would need to add a MP3/Ipod adapter kit and hardwire it into the rear of the MFD2. You wont get track names on screen but you can at least change tracks with the headunit.
