Lumbar support on Octavia seats

How much did it cost & how much was postage. I'd be interested to hear how you get on, I also have back pain (disc problem) and it would be nice to get something to ease the pain.

It cost me €32.70 including currency conversion and delivery. I'm expecting it today so I'll let you know how I get on with it.

I bought a new Octavia Elegance 1.8TSI with leather seats at the end of April. The movement in the driver's seat lumbar support is infinitessimal and the seat is crippling me. The car I test-drove was with fabric seats and seemed to have a fair travel in the lumbar support. My supplying dealer, Caffyns of Ashford Kent, says that there is normal travel in my seat but, to their credit, they are ordering a new lumbar support mechanism and will fit it under warranty. I will let the forum know the outcome.

I am a present using a Backfriend in the seat and that does the trick - but you should not have to use such a support in a brand new car!

Apart from this one fault the car is beautiful!

Bought a backfriend when I got bad back from golf seats I got a base model with no lumbar support so when I got the octavia I moved it straight across, it's true the lumbar support on the scud is pants, and I won't go any distance without the backfriend , I've got no vested interest in the firm but this product really is good it's saved be a lot of backache in the past so much so that I'm after another one just for work in the van!

Contrary to what they had previously told me, the dealer did not fit a new lumbar support but re-jigged the wiring inside the seat - much as has been previously described in this forum, I imagine.

The difference needs a vivid imagination to appreciate! I am still using the Backfriend and will live with the situation until I change the car. My next car will not be a Skoda.
