What are the correct size wheels?

When I bought my car the previous owner had fitted 17" wheels (from Audi TT I think) They're ok but I'd prefer the standard look. My main problem at the moment is I can't fit chains to these as there isn't the clearance between the wheel and strut needed. What wheels should be fitted to a 1.9TDI 4x4? originally?

I'm considering either getting a new year round set or a set of steelies for winter use. Trouble is I can't seem to find anyhing on ebay.

Where could I buy some 15" or 16" steelies and what is the correct fitment size? (I think the 15's are 15" ET47, 5x112 195x65, but what would the right 16" be?)
