dealer problem

Featured Replies

Hi

I bought a 2006 vrs from a skoda dealer last august which as skoda advertised comes with 1 year skoda assist.

Please stay with me while i explain everything.

Well at the end of last month i had cause to use the rac as the car would not start-the fuse box failed.

When i contacted the rac they had no record of the car as the dealer had cancelled the skoda assist.

They admitted they had made a mistake and submitted the wong dates for the purchase.

Well it cost me £115 to get rac cover.

Now the dealer is dragging its heals-will not return calls the people i need to speak to are never in.

Should i contact skoda direct or keep on at the dealer i'm starting to get a bit annoyed now.

Any one got any ideas

thanks

Have you tried going in to the dealership? It's easy to not return phone calls, but it's very difficult to ignore someone face to face.

Of course, it could really be they have been genuinely busy with the current popularity of the offers etc. - you don't say how long you've been trying to get it sorted? I'd go in there and speak to them, but don't go steaming in.

Get in touch with skoda gb :'(

Surely if you've got this written down somewhere the dealer should honour it or else you could threaten bad publicity or legal action...

Write to the dealer, send it recorded delivery, copy to Skoda UK and if you financed it then to the Finance company as well as trading standards, include a copy of the invoice/bill and give them 7 days or you'll take them to small claims court and seek to recover your costs in doing so. Sit back and wait for a grovelling phone call within 48 hours.
