Hello folks, I recently acquired a 2001 Skoda Fabia Comfort 1.9 Diesel has a lot of miles on the clock 112,000.

My main problem is when I lock the car from the outside with the key it locks all the doors like it should but the red blinking light does not come on, It has worked in the past for a few times when I bought it 2 weeks ago it worked then it worked again a few days ago but the past few days it doesn't come on, Is there a certain method to locking these cars? like hold key to the left for 2 seconds? are just a quick turn left then right?

Also on my key there is this button you can push when you push it at the top a orange light emits from key is this remote locking? as it doesn't seem to do anything to the car maybe someone can enlighten me as I don't have a clue about cars this is my first car.

Most likely bad connection on control unit in drivers door. Fault code scan might narrow it down.
