1.8tsi/1.8fsi

Featured Replies

Currently interested in purchasing a used 1.8 elegance. Is there any difference between the FSI and the TSI. The car I have been looking at is a 2008 reg on a 57 plate.Thanks in anticipation of any replies. This is my first post.

Hi Amonite,

I think this has been covered before. Do a search for 1.8TSI

Looking at an Octavia brochure from Jan 2008 I can see even then they were calling the engine 1.8 TSI so could it just be a typo? If so then the differences between a 2008 and a MY 2010 1.8 TSI are not great from paper perspective :-

MY 2008 (Hatch)

CO2 g/km = 176

MPG = 28.0/47.9/38.2

0-62 = 8.1

MY 2010 (Hatch)

CO2 g/km = 158

MPG = 29.70/51.4/40.9

0-62 = 7.8

How they archived this from a technical perspective I don't know. It may have just been remapping, but I could be wrong.

Simon

I thought the FSi was the old 2 litre job? Which I had before my present 1.8TSi.

Was there a 1.8 FSi?

Anyway, the current 1.8TSi is brilliant, much better that the 2.0 FSi.
