Check your fuel lines!

Featured Replies

Our '86 130 was giving a smell of petrol after a journey, and after inspection the fuel line where it meets the fuel tank was perished. After pulling the whole line through I found that this safety related pipe was very friable and tired. It has left me wondering about the condition of the pipe on other Skodas out there. Next time you are under the car, do check this (very hidden) pipe.

Very common fault. I've seen several of these pipes draw in air and cause the engine not to start, but strangely not leak petrol. The main fuel filler rubber hose perishes too, causing wet shoes and wasted petrol when you fill up!
