Featured Replies

Hello everyone I am new to this forum and new Skoda owner, I always driven Audi before (still have Audi A4 B7) but now I bought a Skoda Fabia as second car. I must say I love it so cheap on petrol consumtion and perfect city car. Howevery I started whit installing cruise controle in it and that went well (Have lots of experence of retrofitting/vagcom from Audi)

But now I have a question about my Skoda Fabia key I have this key

key090-1C.jpg

And wont to make the remote open/lock function in my car, whit this key

skodaj.jpg

Is that possible?

I called the stealer and they told me is not possible (as they say about many retrofittings) have anyone done this? Or do a non remote key car have diffrent wiring and modules?, I have checkt whit vagcom whit the menys and where Audi have to program key fob it stands "NOT OPERATING"

How do I activate this is it possible?. Thanks

What Mhz does a Skoda Fabia use?, does anyone here have a remote key to a Skoda Fabia I?

Hi Eddie

I do believe it is possible, but you would need to have the key cut to do it, here is the procedure for the Octavia, but is the same for the Fabia.

But it it not possible like Audi keys to just take the Blade from one key to other. If you look at the pic. it seems to go just take off the blade and transponder. So no need to code new key to immobilizer or cut new blade. Just program the Key Fob if its possible. Do you have a remote key to fabia?

You can't add remote locking to the car without adding any addition hardware to the car if that's what your asking. If it's got remote locking already ignore me as I have no idea!

Sorry Eddie

I know its the language barrier, but not quite sure what you are after !

As per the link I put on before, You have to put one key in the ignition and turn the new key in the door lock so thats why you need to cut the key

Please try again to explain what you are after ?

Excuse me if I'm unclear, I do not always easy for English.

My question was whether it is possible to code a remote key to a Skoda Fabia, which did not come whit this equipment from factory. When checking whit VAG COM and seeing that the function of recode fob key was "Not Operating" I had a feeling of maybe that just could be activated and a new remote fob could be programmed for the remote opening for the car. But I think I got the answer to that question that it requires more than vagcom com and a new remote key/fob. I think the easiest way to be able to controle the locking system remotely is to provide the car whit a CAN alarm and use the remote function of the alarm instedt.

I have coded the Audi keys in the past and it did not seem to be any major problems although I got the car without a functioning remote, but then the car had this feature from the factory. Which my Skoda dont have.
