Anyone insured with elephant?

Featured Replies

Rang elephant (the insurance company, not the animal) to get a quote for my new FL vRS and apparently it does not exist, at least it wasn't on their system :wonder:

They had the TDI and DSG, but no standard hatchback 2.0 petrol came up. I don't know the reg plate yet else they'd have tried from that approach, but I wonder what it would have come up with!

I would have had more luck phoning elephant (the animal, not the insurance company).

Anyone else managed to get a quote direct from them?

Should be on their database, it's on Esure's.

Tried Go Compare the other day put in my reg number and it comes up as a diesel VRS instead of petrol.

Someone else had some problem on here the other week.

It would let me input it in manually however and even had a box for modification items such as remaps, seems some mainstream insurers

are prepared to insure mods now.... even the Post Office!

did you try a quote online, as it is on Elephants online site.

it shouldnt matter wether its and FL or not, its still a vRS.

Check your V5 is correct, as thats where the data is gathered from.

Just checked the Elephant site, here it is! :)

Make: Skoda

Year of Manufacture:2010

Model: Octavia

Type: VRS TURBO 200BHP

Description: 1984cc 4 Door 2005----

Have been insured via 'Elephant' for the last 3 years, good service, but have just saved £140 by going to 'Swift Cover'. Cars insured were MK1 VRS and then MK2 VRS diesel.

The thing is, I have my current insurance with Elephant - so I can't get a quote using my exact details on the website as it recognises me as a policyholder and tells me to ring up. I could get a quote with slightly different details, but that still doesn't give me the haggle-factor. :S

Hey ho....elephant fail.

Unlucky :'(

Swiftcover are cheap for a reason - they dont even have a phone line for claims. Someone at work had an accident and was insured with them. Took 3 months before he could get his car in for repair. I have been with Elephant for 6 years now. They are the cheapest every year apart from Swiftcover and they offer great customer service like faxing cover notes whilst you are on the phone to make sure that you recieve them ok.

Tried ringing elephant again, managed to get a quote this time - good times.

Unfortunately, it's about £130 more than I've been quoted elsewhere - bad times.

Time to jump ship!

Collegue at work has had good fortune with 'Swift', claim sorted in good time. Elephant is no longer an option for me, they will not give me 'Business class 1' due to the job I do, despite charging me for the privilage for the past 3 years!! Error highlighted at renewal, despite being clearly shown on the schedule.
