ABS coming on when going over bumps

Featured Replies

I have a small bump on the entrance to my drive from the street and every time I drive across it with the brakes on, there is a clunking sound from the brake mechanism. It also sounds and feels like the ABS is coming on. The only other time I've had the ABS come on properly was in the ice and snow, and it feels exactly the same when going over this bump, grinding/pulsating sound and feeling.

Is this something I should have looked at or is it normal?

It'l be normal...if the wheels are in the air temporarily, and not moving, the ABS will kick in

yeah what he said, also it will kick in, even if a wheel is just unweighted

Might be made worse by bad/worn tyres if it's in the wet or something too.

I get it braking over drain covers etc when wet all the time, nice to know its working :)
